Delete your account

You can delete your Basis account and its data at any time. There are two ways, and both lead to the same result.
1. From inside the app (fastest)
- Open Basis and go to Settings → Account.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete everything. Deletion runs immediately and signs you out.
2. By email (no app needed)
If you no longer have the app installed, or you can't sign in, emailsupport@basiscoach.com fromthe address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. Sending from that address is how we verify the request is yours — we will not act on a request to delete someone else's account.
We complete deletion within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. If we cannot match your address to an account, we will tell you so rather than leave you waiting.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile — email address, name, and settings.
- Your training data: sessions, logs, plans, and write-ins.
- Your wellness and health entries, including anything imported from your phone's health app.
- Images you uploaded, such as workout or sleep-tracker screenshots.
- Your coach conversations.
- Basis data cached on your device.
What we keep, and why
One thing outlives deletion: an anonymous free-allowance marker. Basis gives every new account a one-time allowance of AI generations, and this record is what keeps it one-time rather than one-time-per-deletion. It is a one-way hash plus a count. It holdsno email address, no name, and no content, and it cannot be reversed or used to contact, identify, or profile you. If you never used the free allowance, no such record exists. This is described in full in Privacy Policy §7.1.
Two ordinary caveats also apply: backups are overwritten on their own cycle rather than edited, and our AI provider's short-term operational logs expire on the provider's schedule, not ours (Privacy Policy §5). We may also retain limited records where the law requires it.
Export your data first
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your data, useSettings → Account → Export my data in the app before you delete — it downloads everything as a JSON file, and we cannot recover an account afterwards.
